Teamwork in Transition: Collaborating to Improve Student Outcomes highlights the essential partnership between school divisions and the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). This session explores how collaboration, grounded in both legal requirements and practical strategies, leads to stronger outcomes for students with disabilities. Participants will gain a clear understanding of Pre-ETS and VR services, as well as practical ways to build effective transition teams by applying the "3 C's": Communication, Collaboration, and Coordination. The session will also clarify the distinct roles of schools and DARS, offering actionable steps to create a unified, student-centered approach that expands access to Pre-ETS and transition services.
