This webcast will present information from a grant on customized employment awarded to the University of South Florida from the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institutes of Health (NIMH/NIH).   ACCESS is testing customized employment as an intervention to determine its impact on the competitive integrated employment outcomes for adults with autism over the age of 22.  Dr. Jorgensen will present information on the ACCESS study to include preliminary findings.

Presenter:

Tammy Jorgensen Smith, Ph.D., CRC is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Child and Family Studies - Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling program at the University of South Florida. Her research focuses on the developmet and implementation of innovative, customized employment models to promote full inclusion and self-determination for people with disabilities. Currently, Dr. Smith is the Principal Investigator for two, large federal grants. She serves on the editorial board of three prestigious journals, is published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, and presents her research at local, state, national, and international conferences. In 2014, she received the National APSE Research Award in recognition of her contributions to the field.
