During this webcast, you will learn about state government benefits available to individuals with disabilities. It’s important to understand that benefits such as personal assistance and community support can play an important role in planning for the future. Navigating state disability services can be difficult, time-consuming, and overwhelming. This workshop explains Virginia’s Medicaid Waivers, eligibility for services, and how to obtain this state benefit.
 

Guest Presenter Bio:

Kendra Wormley is a native of Newport News, VA. She is a proud graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where she earned a degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the School of Education in 2002. While working for a non-profit organization in the Hampton Roads area, Kendra worked with various community partners to establish programs and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. For more than 15 years, she has worked with families, professionals, and organizations to support students and adults with developmental disabilities in increasing their independence and improving opportunities to actively participate in their communities.
