Start on Success (SOS) is a high-quality work-based learning program designed to increase college and career success readiness among at-risk high school students with disabilities. VCU’s Transition RRTC on Employment of Transition-Age Youth with Disabilities, sponsored by NIDILRR, is conducting a research study to confirm SOS as an evidence-based practice. SOS has demonstrated how strategic partnerships increase opportunities and prepare at-risk youth to transition to postsecondary education, competitive integrated employment, and independent living. During this webcast, viewers will learn about the role family and community partnerships played in our research plan, the impact COVID-19 protocols had on the outcomes, and lessons learned for future research.
