Structured abstract:

Background:  This article describes the results of structured interviews with 19 vocational rehabilitation counselors concerning their experiences working with college students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Participants represented local Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) offices across the state of Virginia. Results describe counselors’ perspectives on the career preparation needs of college students with ASD, provision of services and supports provided by VR for students with ASD, collaboration with campus services and supports, and the professional development needs of VR counselors to better serve college students with ASD.
