Structured abstract:
Background: | This article takes a look at the appropriateness of Motivational Interviewing used as a part of the plan for mental health consultation with K-12 school administration. Using recent literature of the use of MI in schools, the authors discuss issues in school-based consultations and how using MI can address those challenges. They also lay out the philospohies and primary processes of MI using the case dialogue with one administration. They also discuss suggestions of increasing competence in regards to MI. |
