Background: | This article analyzes supports provided by case managers to youth with disabilities from urban ethnic minority groups. This group of youth often experiences heightened social and economic challenges. Bridges is a nationwide community-based competitive employment program operated by the Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities. This study evaluates the case notes of Bridges case managers who were helping youth transition from school to work. Research results showed that job development and job-seeking skills were essential for obtaining an interview. Maintaining employment over time was found to correlate with job-specific and off-site work supports. |
