The Scientific Review Committee (SRC) at VCU was formed to provide study design, analytic planning and operational feasibility review of clinical research before IRB review. This initiative is being led by Dr. David Cifu (Chair) and Dr. Antonio Abbate (Associate Chair) with the SRC membership ranks being filled by prominent VCU researchers http://www.cctr.vcu.edu/src/leadership.html.

The mission of the SRC is to ensure that all research projects involving human subjects meets acceptable standards of scientific rigor and feasibility without obstructing institutional efficiency and timeliness and is aligned with the VCU Quest for Distinction. Please continue to submit your protocols to the IRB for institutional review. You will be informed if your protocol has been screened and selected for a SRC review.
