Katie is a Research and Training Associate within the Employment Services division. With a background in employment development as well as training and development, she has worked in the field of disability services for over 11 years. Katie has taught the Supported Employment web course, developed course content and materials and provided training and technical assistance nationally to both business and vocational rehabilitation organizations.
While Mrs. Thompson has worked with VCU RRTC for more than 11 years, she was previously with Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services as well as LandAmerica Financial Group as a Training Coordinator and Analyst providing technical training, project management, business requirement gathering, report writing, and technical support. Katie holds a Master’s degree in Adult Education and Human Resource Development (HRD) from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication with a concentration in Organizational Communication from James Madison University.
