Laura Coffey

NTDC Ticket to Work Helpline Training Coordinator

Laura Coffey is the Help Line Training and TA Coordinator, and ETO Technical Assistance Liaison with Virginia Commonwealth University’s SSA-funded National Training and Data Center. In this role, she provides training related to SSA work incentives and employment supports primarily to the Ticket to Work Help Line agents who provide work incentives information and referral services to beneficiaries. In addition, she also is the primary trainer and technical assistance liaison for ETO, the WIPA National Data System. Laura has also provided technical assistance to Work Incentives Counselors and Community Partners in multiple SSA federal regions.

Ms. Coffey also has extensive experience in employment services for people with disabilities. She has created and managed a number of highly successful programs including: employment services for under-served, disadvantaged and disabled populations; Social Security benefits counseling; and entrepreneurship development for individuals with disabilities. She has also provided services as an independent consultant on a variety of disability and employment issues with various state agencies.

Ms. Coffey also served as an active board member and Membership Chair of NABWIS – National Association of Benefits and Work Incentives Specialists for 5 years.
