
Ming Zhu currently serves as Assistant Research Director for Information Systems at Rehabilitation Research and Training Center. He earned his Master degree in Biomedical Engineering in 1990 and Master degree in Bioelectronics in 1985. He is primarily responsible for planning, analyzing, designing, and integrating computing needs at RRTC. His main duty is to administrate and expand the computing network, network security and Web systems; assisting the Research Director to identify the computing technology needs in the research protocols and grant applications.
Prior his current appointment at VCU-RRTC, Mr. Zhu worked for the Department of Human Genetics, Medical College of Virginia as a faculty member and responsible for the maintenance and analysis of the Virginia Congenital Anomalies Reporting and Education System (VaCARES) with assistance of the ORACLE SQL technology, SAS Analysis tool and other computing technologies. He was also responsible for the client/server systems design and expansion, the Internet connectivity, Wide-wide Web development, Database designing and programming, and statistical analysis of the genetic information.
