Dr. Inge has over 35 years experience providing training and technical assistance including developing and disseminating best practice information on employment for those who have been unemployed or underemployed due to significant disabilities. Currently, she is the Principal Investigator for VCU's Disability and Rehabilitation Research Project on Customized Employment funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR).

Dr. Inge has been with VCU-RRTC since 1982 and holds degrees in occupational therapy, and special education. She has co-authored books, book chapters, journal articles, newsletters, and produced numerous other training materials on employment for individuals with disabilities. She has been the Director of Instructional Technology at VCU for over 20 years and has served as PI or Project Director for many projects on employment including:

  • The Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Employment of People with Physical Disabilities

  • START-UP-USA (funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Rehabilitation Policy [DOL ODEP])

  • The Training And Technical Assistance For Providers (T-TAP) (funded by DOL ODEP)

  • TechLink, an online project offering course work on transition and employment (funded by the U.S. Department of Education)

  • Project Access for people with physical disabilities (funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, Rehabilitation Services Administration [RSA])

  • Other transition-age youth demonstration projects
